Why the Greens is not a wasted vote.

June 29, 2016 — leslie dean brown

I think it’s a real shame that people used to see a green vote as “a wasted vote”.

I don’t think people should be voting against someone (didn’t Bernie say that?). It’s true. They should vote for who they want to win in the first place.

And here in OZ, I am getting sick and bloody tired of the same old two-party duopoly and the preference voting system and I’m sure a load of other people are too. I think they’ve had it their way for too long. And where has it got us? Melting icecaps. Bleached reef. Land clearing. Even the koala at risk of extinction now!! I don’t think the EITHER of the two major parties has the long term vision for a truly better planet. Governments are meant to protect us and they are not doing a sufficiently good job IMPHO. So this ex-research scientist is once again voting GREEN.

Now if all of that little lot joined up with —I can’t believe I’m going to say this— the two other Christian parties, and they ALL vowed to put the environment first, then we might stand a better chance of survival. But that is just for one country…

See, the way I see it is thus: if you’re reading this, then you are undoubtedly breathing a convenient oxygen/nitrogren mix … kindly supplied by … forests and ocean chlorophyll. And you owe it big. You owe it your life. Your very existence.
